【摘要】:Thisguideestablishesarecommendedlistofchallengechemicalstoencouragethosewhoevaluatechemicalprotectiveclothingtotestaminimumnumberofchemicalsincommon.Thislistwillsimplifythecomparisonofdatafromdifferentsources.Thisguidemayalsoservematerialdevelopersorevaluatorsinscreeningcandidateprotectiveclothingmaterials.Testmethodsapplicabletotheuseofthisguideinclude,butarenotlimitedto,TestMethodsF903andF739.5.3.1ThebatteryofchemicalgasesshallnotbeusedfortestingmaterialpenetrationresistancebecauseTestMethodF903hasbeendesignedformeasuringliquidpenetrationonly.5.3.2Evaluationofmaterialsagainstthegaseouschemicalbatteryisprimarilyintendedforthosematerialsusedintheconstructionoftotally-encapsulatingprotectivesuitsorotherclothingitemsthataredesignedtopreventexposuretochemicalvaporsorgases.1.1Thepurposeofthisguideistoprovidearecommendedlistofbothliquidandgaseouschemicalsforevaluatingprotectiveclothingmaterialsintestingprograms.1.2Resultsderivedfromtestingprogramsusingtheselistsofchallengechemicalsarenotintendedforthedefinitivecharacterizationofprotectiveclothingmaterials.1.3Thislistofchallengechemicalsisnotinclusiveofallchemicalchallenges;thechemicalswerechosentorepresentbroadrangesofliquidandgaseouschemicalclassesandproperties.Notallchemicalclassesarerepresented.Otherchemicals,especiallythoseofinteresttothemanufactureroruser,shouldbetestedinadditiontothoserecommendedinthisguide.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.AspecifichazardsstatementisgiveninSection.
