【摘要】:Intheutilizationofstructuralmaterialsinelevatedtemperatureenvironments,componentsthataresusceptibletofatiguedamagemayexperiencesomeformofsimultaneouslyvaryingthermalandmechanicalforcesthroughoutagivencycle.Theseconditionsareoftenofcriticalconcernbecausetheycombinetemperaturedependentandcycledependent(fatigue)damagemechanismswithvaryingseverityrelatingtothephaserelationshipbetweencyclictemperatureandcyclicmechanicalstrain.Sucheffectscanbefoundtoinfluencetheevolutionofmicrostructure,micromechanismsofdegradation,andavarietyofotherphenomenologicalprocessesthatultimatelyaffectcycliclife.Thestrain-controlledthermomechanicalfatiguetestisoftenusedtoinvestigatetheeffectsofsimultaneouslyvaryingthermalandmechanicalloadingsunderidealizedconditions,wherecyclictheoreticallyuniformtemperatureandstrainfieldsareexternallyimposedandcontrolledthroughoutthegagesectionofthespecimen.1.1Thispracticecoversthedeterminationofthermomechanicalfatigue(TMF)propertiesofmaterialsunderuniaxiallyloadedstrain-controlledconditions.A"thermomechanical"fatiguecycleisheredefinedasaconditionwhereuniformtemperatureandstrainfieldsoverthespecimengagesectionaresimultaneouslyvariedandindependentlycontrolled.ThispracticeisintendedtoaddressTMFtestingperformedinsupportofsuchactivitiesasmaterialsresearchanddevelopment,mechanicaldesign,processandqualitycontrol,productperformance,andfailureanalysis.Whilethispracticeisspecifictostrain-controlledtesting,manysectionswillprovideusefulinformationforforce-controlledorstress-controlledTMFtesting.1.2Thispracticeallowsforanymaximumandminimumvaluesoftemperatureandmechanicalstrain,andtemperature-mechanicalstrainphasing,withtherestrictionbeingthatsuchparametersremaincyclicallyconstantthroughoutthedurationofthetest.Norestrictionsareplacedonenvironmentalfactorssuchaspressure,humidity,environmentalmedium,andothers,providedthattheyarecontrolledthroughoutthetest,donotcauselossoforchangeinspecimendimensionsintime,andaredetailedinthedatareport.1.3Theuseofthispracticeislimitedtospecimensanddoesnotcovertestingoffull-scalecomponents,structures,orconsumerproducts.
